The Rwanda Bill is being passed between MPs & peers in a process called ping pong.

But peers have a nuclear option: approving the same amendment twice.

Is there a real chance of 'double insistence', or will the Lords back down in time?

I don’t understand how Harrison Ford looks younger in Dial of Destiny than he did in Crystal Skull.

Dial of Destiny is also a much better film and, given that there clearly won’t be another one, a good conclusion to the series notwithstanding the box office underperformance.

The Future of Humanity Institute has shut down. I'm told that the discovery of Bostrom's racist email, and his shockingly bad 'apology' for that email (even referencing social justice advocates as 'bloodthirsty mosquitoes' on his website), played a bit part in this development.

one of the reasons Nick Bostrom's Future of Humanity Institute got shut down: it was expected to, get this, produce academic work appropriate to its position in a department of philosophy. The outrage! archive.is/6Vdi4

Explain to me why somebody doesn’t make an LLM query tool that generates an answer, and then searches for non generative corroborating evidence…like an intelligent entity would

Then use the resultant delta to build a confidence table of their data points around various subjects

Presumably Oxford did some calculations anddecided it would be more beneficial to spend the money in some other way.

(This is an Effective Altruism joke).

The community note and some of the replies on this seem to rather miss the point.

The tweet cites specific institutions which undoubtedly did financially benefit/were associated with slavery.

The community note seems to be addressing the general effect on the economy.

Idle thought based on recent polls. If we do end up with a Labour Government and a Lib Dem Official Opposition, is it naïve to imagine that we could get a slightly more civilised and constructive Prime Minister’s Questions?

Great to see the Commons has implemented Procedure Committee's 'Correcting the Record' report, which I gave oral evidence to. All MPs can now submit written corrections to Hansard with corrections now better publicised and easier to find.

For the first time since British Social Attitudes began in the 1980s, more think that we should change the voting system for the House of Commons than those who think it should be kept as it is.
