This week we welcomed our newest members of our school community to school. Our Reception children in Acorn class started full time this week. They have enjoyed exploring the outdoors and working together in the classroom. #BESTfamily

Gravenhurst Academy: Forest school has resumed at Gravenhurst Academy and the autumn harvest is producing lots of fun and learning. Jacqui brought along her apple presse and everyone had the opportunity to make fresh apple juice from our meadow and taste it too! ☺️ #BESTfamily

Oak class have a visitor -Mr Bones. He allowed Oak class to observe the skeleton frame was very interested in their class topic WW2. The children started to make air raid shelters from shoe boxes and one member of Oak class made a gas mask to show everyone! #BESTfamily ☺️

We wanted to say a big thank you to the village chapel after allowing us to host our Harvest Festival there. Our wonderful parents supported the event by donating food items towards The NEED Project and then came to see the children's celebrations of food harvest. #BESTfamily

We would like to thank our school community and neighbours for donating to our Happy School Bag collection. We raised £237.60 towards PTA fund raising. FROGs are hoping to replace the school pond fencing! #BESTfamily😀

GHAToday we celebrated the start of the half term break with a pumpkin competition and fancy dress. We were lucky enough to have a BEST trust member Mr Rowell visit and judge the winners of our pumpkin competition(featured below). #BESTfamily Happy Half term everyone! 😀

Today our School Council members visited the village war memorial to place the class wreaths ready for the gathering on Sunday. On Monday we will also take a moment to reflect on those that have fallen during wartime with a minutes silence at 11am. #BESTfamily

Gravenhurst Academy celebrating Children in Need! Today we dressed in non school uniform to help raise funds for the wonderful charity. #ChildrenInNeed #BESTfamily 😊

Gravenhurst Academy: Our youngest members of our school, Acorn class, have had a very busy week. They started with Forest school on Monday and ended the week wearing bedclothes to school to help celebrate the launch of our bedtime reading challenge. 😊 #BESTfamily

Congratulations Gravenhurst Academy: As this year's overall winner is Florence - a Year 1️⃣ pupil! Gravenhurst Academy Judges absolutely loved her colourful penguin - which will now feature on our official trust Christmas card this year! #BestFamily

This week Santa came to town! Santa and his helper delivered gifts to the classroom to help replenish our wet play toys. He also left every child a selection box to enjoy! Thank you Santa and we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and see you in the New Year! #BESTfamiy
