Happy September aka #DirectedByWomen Month! Starting things off with a clip from “Savannah” (1989), a UCLA Film Unofficial student work directed by the late Anita W. Addison (1952-2004) and starring Penny Johnson Jerald in a terrific dual performance!

So excited to complete my Q&A transcript with the late Betty Blayton’s brother! Betty was a phenomenal painter/printmaker. Just wait until you hear her story from someone who knew her best.

Brooklyn Museum is having an exhibit on Elizabeth Catlett, my lithography inspiration. “Black Maternity” (1959) influenced my first crayon lithograph “Walking the Lion” (2009). When Catlett passed in 2012, my kind, old printmaking teacher emailed to me, “I’m sorry for your loss.”

I was recently diagnosed with postnasal drip. Instead of a cold’s runny nose spilling over my philtrum and whatnot, my mucus prefers going down my throat and causing respiratory issues: an irritating cough refuses to leave on its own and invisible hands are choking me.
