THE GREAT GAME On this day 150 years ago the first rugby international took place at Raeburn Place in Edinburgh. In front of 4,000 spectators Scottish Rugby won by two tries and a goal to England Rugby’s single try to start a rivalry that is fierce today as it was a century ago.

Today we mark 150 years of international rugby 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 On 27th March 1871, the first international match was played at Raeburn Place between Scotland and England. Scottish Rugby Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, has sent us a special message to mark the occasion. #AsOne

Today we're honoured to celebrate the history of Raeburn Place, which marks the 150th Anniversary of the first rugby international. Raeburn Place's hallowed turf has a rich sporting history, and we're proud of the RPF for making the ground a destination worthy of its heritage.

There were wins for Grange Cricket Club and Edinburgh Accies CC on Thursday evening as the Masterton t20 Trophy group stage came to an end - it looks like Grange will play Heriot’s Cricket Club in one semi-final on July 5 with Watsonian Cricket taking on Carlton CC in the other
