Strutting through the week like a Scarlet Ibis 💖

Is it a baby flamingo? While this bird lives with our flock of flamingos, and is a similar color, it is not a baby flamingo.

The scarlet ibis gets its bright red color from the carotenoids found in crustaceans.

Did you know seahorses can camouflage? Recently, Aquarist Madison added yellow coral to the seahorse exhibit. After 2 weeks, one of the seahorses changed from a dark brown to a vibrant yellow and is camouflaging with the coral! 🪸
