The annual grey seal report is here! 10,544 #greyseals were spotted in the #WaddenSea and #Helgoland , which is an 18% increase from last year. Also, our experts spotted 2,515 seal pups, a 10% increase compared to last season 🎉

The season seemed to be going well until a few days ago, when well-fed chicks started dying. Today we found two sick adults. Both tested positive for #avianinfluenza . Let's hope that the increased antibody presence and reduced density prevent a repeat from last season... #H5N1
