Lloyd Harris is through to the final in Shenzhen with a 6-2 6-4 win over Mark Lajal.

Lajal had good chances to break back at 3-2 in the second set but couldn’t take them.

Harris has been serving so well and sets up an intriguing clash against James Duckworth in the final.

Lajal unlike Harris has not served as he would’ve liked. Loses the break early in the second set. Harris leads 2-1

Duckworth takes the first set 6-3 vs Bertola.

There was a massive crack of thunder during that last game and then you could hear the rain coming very heavily. The court is covered but they’ve made the decision to suspend play.

Not surprising, Qinwen did mention a few days ago that she sustained a small leg injury in Stuttgart against Kostyuk

- She also said that it could be due to the intensive schedule (playing the BJKC in China then Stuttgart with little rest) or due to intense physical training…

Zheng retires with Putintseva leading 7-5, 2-0. A shame because we saw some good tennis in the first set but the leg injury too much for Zheng.

Putintseva takes the first set 7-5 against Zheng Qinwen.

It will feel tough for Zheng as she was at *40-0 5-6. But not too surprising as the consistency hasn’t really been there for her. Putintseva has been playing well and not giving her any rhythm.
