🎣How do marine heatwaves affect fish vital for recreational & commercial use?
A collaborative study led by Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology is running experiments in the SIMS to understand this. Focusing on Yellowfin Bream & Sand Whiting, the project examines their responses to heatwave conditions.
Excited to highlight Amanda Pettersen's vital research on the Great Southern Reef, advancing our understanding of seaweed physiology in the face of climate change & guiding the next gen of scientists!
This research is key for understanding how to protect our underwater forests.🌱🌊

Now that’s a marathon swim! Diaz the long-nosed fur seal has travelled 6,000km since being released late last year. She’s the fifth seal to be released as part of the Seabirds to Seascapes Project with @sydneymarine, Taronga Zoo and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service 💙
