The DJ industry has devolved into a shit show of influencer and grifter DJs who are being subsidized by janky promoters, blood sucking booking agents and party people who are content with a DJ’s set so long as he/she plays the song they requested.

The crux of this Coachella DJ scandal is Grimes & her defenders reduce DJing to hitting the SYNC button on your controller or app, then letting A.I. magically lock the tempo of two different songs. But DJing is an intuitive art form, not computer science! Machines lack intuition.

From deep fake DJs to the platforms that promote them, it seems like everyone's a sellout in the industry now. If your aesthetic is right, you'll be invited to speak on every DJ podcast & perform at music festivals despite your inauthenticity as a DJ.
