The Parliamentary and and Health Service Ombudsman has produced a detailed report on the plight of WASPI women. I welcomed the report this afternoon at Holyrood and put on record my praise for WASPI women and campaigners for their hard work and diligence in getting to this point.

In June 2022, Kate Forbes refused to countenance the idea of a “black hole” in Scotland’s public finances.

By December 2023, all parties agreed the black hole was real. The fiscal position was on an unsustainable path.

Who put it on that path? Kate Forbes… and John Swinney.

I wouldn’t dare to advise the independence movement but this kind of arrogance is what has got them in this predicament in the first place.

It was great to talk to representatives from Held In Our Hearts at Holyrood this morning about the work they do to offer bespoke and flexible compassionate care to anyone bereaved of a baby or an infant so that no one is alone at this devastating time.
