!!! A novel from the point of view of a young Tamil woman growing up in Jaffna in the 1980s! And it's is on the Women's Prize shortlist, among books and authors I deeply admire. Grateful for this recognition.

Next February, FSG will publish my next book of poems, “New and Collected Hell!” It’s “The Hell Poem” expanded to a 100+ page narrative epic, and it starts with this poem, “Invocation.” I figured--when am I gonna get another chance to invoke the muses at the beginning of an epic?
