As E. Stewart Williams recalls, it all started when “Frank [Sinatra] came in with a white sailor hat and an ice cream cone and said ‘I want that house’.” Twin Palms Estate (1947) was Williams' first residential commission.​​​​​

Built by developer Roy Fey, El Rancho Vista Estates (1960-1964) is a time capsule of a neighborhood. Architects Donald Wexler and Richard A. Harrison created this community of simple modernist bungalows and low-slung ranch homes.
