The positive Opinion for 🇽🇰 membership in Council of Europe has just been approved by PACE

It recommends full membership, as a European state, without any added preconditions.

This strong democratic support is a clear call for 🇽🇰's full membership in May.

Heartfelt thank you to PACE for the resounding support in recommending 🇽🇰’s @CoE membership. With 131 votes in favor, progress is undeniable.

Now, onto the next step with CoE's ministerial body.

A great day for Kosova, as PACE votes in favor of our application to join the Council of Europe.

This is a ringing endorsement of our state's record on human rights, democracy & rule of law, bringing the Republic of Kosova one step closer to full membership.

In Strasbourg, we are following with great interest and excitement the debate PACE about 🇽🇰’s application for membership in the Council of Europe. Grateful for the strong support from MPs across countries who are backing the positive recommendation of PACE Rapporteur Dora Bakoyannis.

Kosova’s Diplomatic Academy hosted its inaugural Diaspora Diplomacy School, welcoming diplomats from 30+ countries. This initiative underscores the increasing interest in leveraging the potential of diasporas and the need to establish a global network.

I condemn Iran’s recent attack on Israel. This unprecedented act poses a severe risk of destabilizing the entire region. Now, more than ever, the world needs to prioritize ending hostilities and fostering lasting peace.

Today marks the 16th anniversary of the adoption of Kosova's Constitution, which solidified the guarantee of rights for all citizens, with particular emphasis on minorities. Sixteen years on, we remain committed to ensuring the implementation and protection of these rights.

The 75th anniversary of NATO stands as testament of solidarity and strength of shared values. In Kosova, NATO's intervention is remembered for halting genocide. As we celebrate this anniversary, we renew our commitment to deepen cooperation and join the alliance.

1/2: Started my two-day official visit to 🇯🇵 with a meeting w/my Japanese counterpart, Yōko Kamikawa (上川 陽子　KAMIKAWA Yoko), marking the 15th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. Discussed ways to deepen bilateral relations and support 🇽🇰's international organization memberships.

Our democratic progress continues to be recognized internationally! The 2024 report by the Swedish-based V-Dem Institute has placed Kosova on an improved position and highlighted it as one of the few democracies showing improvement globally. At 62, 🇽🇰 ranks higher than all WB6.

Grateful to the Arbëreshë municipalities in both Calabria and Sicily for their warm welcome. Together, we have agreed to strengthen cooperation and partnership between our communities, and I look forward to welcoming them in 🇽🇰 soon.
