7 years ago today I started working for Scotland's Rock Art in Edinburgh. I couldn't believe my first day was a May Day! Nobody works on May Day where I come from. 7 years on, I'm not with ScRAP anymore, but still in Edinburgh, where I've been settled in for longest since I was 15

So happy to see many references to these amazing ladies, authors of the 'New Portuguese Letters'. Anti-fascists, they defied the authoritarian government. Their work, claiming gender equality and denouncing injustices of colonialism was pivotal for the end of the regime.

Yesterday the voice was heard loud!

I'm not in Portugal today (I wish I was) and I was not able to walk down the avenues to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our Revolution. But it's been an emotional day seeing thousands of people getting together to shout out loud for Freedom, Democracy and against Fascism!

This 90 year-old lady is the reason why the revolution was named the 'Carnation Revolution', as she began to distribute flowers amongst the soldiers on this day in 1974. Today she is out again, with Carnations, her daughter and her granddaughter, no doubt has sown a lot of seeds

And as we celebrate our 50th anniversary of Freedom, I am very aware that others have none of it and are still fighting. This surgeon says the majority of injuries are gunshots in children... when will this end? #CeasefireForGazaNOW
