I just released PgBouncer 1.22.1 while waiting for my flight back from PGConf India: pgbouncer.org/2024/03/pgboun… Upgrading is very much advised. The 'prepared statements release' had introduced some bad bug, because COPY FROM STDIN has some protocol weirdness that I didn't realize.

A funny side effect of getting married is that my Postgres contribution stats for 2023 are slightly off due to my name change. In addition to the ones listed in Robert Haas his blog, I authored 3 commits, 43 lines, and 36 emails. Resulting in the unsatisfying email count of 199

I'm very excited to be speaking at PostgreSQL India in February. It will be my first time traveling to India, so I'm also looking forward to exploring some of the culture and the good food.

I'm very happy that prepared statement support for PgBouncer is now released. There were soooooo many edge cases. Thanks everyone that helped implementing and testing. I want to specifically call out Simon Boschman and Martijn Dashorst from Topicus education for their initial POC of the feature.
