You have to fuck up on a truly historic level to get the NYPD to say “even we think these were meaningless arrests.” They love meaningless arrests!

what's the value of having tenure if you can't even defend your own peacefully protesting students? how will you look them in the eye when they return to the classroom?

Columbia deans are gonna be like “what is kettling but a thinking of community otherwise, a rupture in the distribution of the sensible,”

It hurts my heart how many US universities tell students to 'prove to us that you will be an ethical, moral hero who will stand for what's right above and beyond all others' in their admissions essays just to get in, then will punish them when they do just that on campus.

This is insane. The NYPD has to leave the Columbia campus & surrounding area.

Academics here have produced reams of scholarship on the NYPD’s brutality and unaccountability.

The heavy police presence threatens the safety of *our students* + *everyone around campus.* All of us.

In an effort to wear down the steadfast students of the Gaza Encampment, Columbia is now prohibiting folks visibly carrying food from entering campus.

Rather than divest from a state that systematically starves the population it occupies, the Uni is trying to act more like it.

I was supposed to do an event @ Columbia in a couple of weeks and I pulled out in January over how Columbia admin was handling student protestors; their actions in the ensuing months have validated that decision. Support student protest; free palestine; a better world is possible

Students responding to the moral issue of our time and all university admins have done is silence them, suspend them, hound them out of student housing, cancel their events, and subject them to disciplinary hearings. Truly shameful.

This is so unfair. Some of us are polyamorous childless transgenderz who teach women to hate men.
