Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has grossly inflated the criminal liability facing Donald Trump. At worst this should be a single misdemeanor not 34 felonies. Each document does not amount to a separate crime. They are overt acts to bring about a single alleged minor crime.

Trump was enraged today following hours of damning testimony from his former lawyer, sleazy Michael Cohen. Among other creepy deeds, Cohen secretly recorded his own client. Still, as court ended for the day, Trump's most bitter rant was reserved for the trial judge Juan Merchan.

Jurors are getting a tabloid tour of 2006-era Trumpville. Stormy Daniels’ lurid testimony in the hush money case has commentators smirking. Relevant testimony? maybe. Prejudicial? definitely. Details seem gratuitous and designed to humiliate.

Trump hush money case plods on. So far at least there is no direct evidence that Trump was personally involved in the trick accounting at the heart of this case. In fact there’s reasonable doubt galore. Only Michael Cohen can make the link. Will the jury believe a convicted liar?
