This week we welcomed students from @FUSD_JHillsHS who participated in the CETA Southern California Educational Theatre Fall Festival, where their performance in the courtroom drama, “12 Angry Jurors,” earned them special recognition and a trip to our Capitol for the first time!

It was great to meet with students from Inland Southern California participating in CAIR California 13th Annual Muslim Day at the Capitol.

Another great @rivtamalefest at Trujillo Adobe, Riverside’s oldest historic landmark which tells our region’s diverse story, of indigenous peoples, Mexican and European settlers. That history is preserved for our community to learn from and enjoy for generations to come.

This morning, #teamroth participated in the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Lake Perris State Recreation Area. Lake Perris offers opportunities for boating, picnicking, swimming, camping, hiking, & is home to many species of animals & plants & holds a rich cultural history.

It is so inspiring spending time with the amazing Dolores Huerta, discussing ways to increase the delivery of health care services, especially dental care, to our communities of greatest need. I always find it difficult to describe her because her reach & her impact are so large.

Tonight is the First Seder of Passover. This annual weeklong festival commemorates the emancipation of Jewish peoples from slavery. During this Passover, I wish everyone who celebrates a joy-filled week of hope and promise as we pray for peace around the world. Happy Pesach!

54 years ago today the first Earth Day was held to bring people together to fight for environmental causes. Months later the EPA was founded in response to the demand for cleaner water, air, and land. Today we continue to combat the climate crisis at home and abroad. #earthday
