I submitted an FOI request to the GMC asking them about the tax they pay.

Turns out, the GMC do not pay tax. They class doctors' fees as charity.

They take £500/yr from doctors, pay zero tax on it, and use it to give their staff £250k salaries and private healthcare.

Wow. After the Peter Hilton mess, I thought the profession might have had a think. It appears not. Although from the rabid anitvaxxer conspiracist that somehow still HAS a registration perhaps this is just an attention grab. Either way, what a tool.

My god. Hilton doubling down in tomorrow’s The Times and The Sunday Times - calling sexual misconduct “trivial”. The fact he refers to women as “girls” speaks volumes.

I’ve sort of given up on Twitter but this deserves a response. As an anaesthetist, and as a father of an amazing daughter about to start at medical school, the urge to meet Mr Hilton face to face is overwhelming. He is no longer worthy of Dr. He is an absolute disgrace.

What have I learned.

Kev, I’m going to address this to you personally. Because you’re at Torbay, and I did my F1 at Torbay. But it bears relevance to so many despondent and scared junior doctors and senior medical students.

UK-REBOA results:

REBOA increased mortality at 90 days and at all interim time points.

REBOA increased deaths due to bleeding at 3 hours and 90 days.

REBOA substantially delayed time to definitive haemorrhage control.
