I don't think i've ever seen anyone post this image of Goku from the Masunaga episode, Goku vs Cell. God damn, he drew solid looking characters.

I've come to a realisation after practising animating Dragonball stuff for a while. I'll never take for granted this shading layer in DBZ ever again.
It adds depth, but damn its mentally draining to add it to every frame. No wonder its all one-tone shading now in fight scenes

Here's my finished character, Loom. A Saiyan raised on Yardrat. Violent at a young age because of her saiyan roots, but over time learned to control herself through training and discipline.

Might just be nostalgia, but i think i prefer quality artwork with limited animation, rather than simple artwork with fluid animation. I love smooth animation, but theres something satisfying about seeing a solid, well drawn character in Dragon Ball.

What do you fellas think?
