I scream about this at least once per year. I’ve seen more than a couple TV writers finally make it into a writers room and then struggle to write in someone else’s voice. Writing specs of existing shows are great training for the job you want.

I will never delete this video because I feel like it shows what it’s like to finish a nasty deadline. You emerge dingy and dehydrated, you haven’t seen another human in hours, and you’ve been eating trash.

2 TV shows that define my personality

I go on walks at lunch almost every day because there’s always something new to look at. This, in particular, was a magnet for every nerd on the lot (including me)

I don’t think new humans understand how fast & accurately info spread before the internet. I knew all the good gossip from neighboring schools & the mixtape my friend got from his cousin in NY spread thru my school in CA like crack. With just landlines, we all knew the same stuff

You own a little movie theater and on Saturdays you show double features. What’s playing today?

Your ability or inability to afford to go to film school/art school does not determine your worth as an artist. Self-taught can also equal success.

When I was a kid, one of my mom’s friends admitted that she reads the last chapter of a book first so she knows how it ends “just in case she dies before finishing the book.” It’s recently been brought to my attention that there’s more of you out there. Explain yourselves!

It’s true that money can’t buy happiness, but when people aren’t stressed about paying rent and eating they can do more of the things that do make them happy.
