A turkey checks-in with Soldiers as they prepare for a ceremony.
While it isn't a pet, the turkey is seen enough around the cemetery that it has won the hearts of many who work here.

Yesterday, PM's Office of Japan Fumio Kishida visited ANC and participated in a wreath ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Kishida was escorted by MDW USARMY Commanding General Maj. Gen. Trevor J. Bredenkamp.

Today is #NationalSiblingsDay ! Twin brothers U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Charles Pattillo and Maj. Cuthbert Pattillo were founding members the Thunderbirds in 1953. At their funeral service in 2022, the Thunderbirds performed a double missing man.

For over seven years, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. James Risner survived the 'Hanoi Hotel', the most infamous Vietnam POW camp. When he held a forbidden religious service, the guards put him in solitary while other POWs sang the U.S. national anthem.

On Nov. 27, 1950, Chinese Communist Forces in Korea captured U.S. Army Sgt. Lawrence Robidoux. He remained in a POW camp until he died of starvation on May 31, 1951.
In 2023, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) identified Robidoux’s remains.
He is laid to rest in Section 78.

On October 29, 1963, Viet Cong soldiers captured U.S. Army Special Forces Lt. James “Nick” Rowe. Over the next five years, he endured horrific treatment until he could escape and be rescued.
Rowe is laid to rest in Section 48. We honor his service.
