Allegations against people attending pro-Palestine protests should be independently verified before being repeated. Some videos circulating show masked people whose identities still aren’t clear and there is a history of agent provocateurs infiltrating protests to discredit them.

In November, “I ❤️ Hamas” stickers appeared on posters advertising a student walkout for Palestine at University of British Columbia, implicating UBC Social Justice Centre. The story went viral after it was spread by pro-Israel advocates. Turns out the stickers were made by a pro-Israel contractor working for Hillel BC.

I went to Columbia, and was active daily in Jewish life on campus.

3/ I can empathize with Jewish students who feel uncomfortable with some chants at the encampment. But if we’re talking discomfort: to only express concern for those students but nothing for Palestinian, Muslim, and Arab American students these past 6 months? Beyond shameful.
