This person and others deny that Labour activists in North Northumberland were blocked from Contact Creator and told to go to Hexham. So I'll delete that, but I've had so many DMs from people in other places to be confident that similar happened in several other seats.

Raja's agent tells me that her date of birth is 21 July 1994, so she is still 29. And Luke Myer, the new Labour MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland won't be 30 until next years. So that makes 17 under-30 MPs, and maybe there are still some I've missed.

Indeed, it's been suggested to me today that the new Lib Dem MP for Harrogate & Knaresborough is 29. If so, that would make it 18 under-30s. Can anyone confirm or refute this? Please DM me.

Labour MP Keir Mather has been appointed an assistant government whip at the age of 26. What was the last government appointment of an MP at such a young age? Mather's new colleague in the government whips office Sir Nic Dakin - 69 today - is nearly 43 years older than Mather.

I'd love know of examples where outgoing MPs (especially defeated MPs) have been really helpful to their victorious successors in giving general advice on handling constituency cases. Equally, I'd love to know of examples where defeated MPs have given no help at all. Please DM.

A very sensible measured article from seasoned Labour activist David Landon Cole on why Labour's targetting strategy in 2024 was too ruthless, not always effective, and may have stored up problems for the future. Worth a read. takes.jamesomalley.co.uk/p/labours-targ…

This campaign has been launched to get more working class and blue collar MPs into Parliament. They say the figures have declined at every election since the 1960s.

Absolutely nothing has changed from last season for #MUFC. A wide open midfield. A weak mentality. No identity. Misplaced passes. No goal threat. Dreadful.

Institute for Government have launched their fascinating new Ministers Database. 59.7% of Cons MPs 2010–24 were ministers for some of that time, but only 42.8% of Tory MPs 1979–97, and 43.4% of Labour MPs 1997–2010: instituteforgovernment.org.uk/ministers-data…
