🔴WESTMINSTER NORTH: Karen Buck told her constituency Labour party meeting last night that she won't be standing at the next election. The announcement was met with astonishment and dismay. Sadly, I understand her husband is very ill.

@Tomorrow'sMPs It's not really switching though if he does.

He lives in that 20% that's becoming Hitchin.

Presumably wants to continue to represent where he lives.

🔴HITCHIN: source says Alistair Strathern, who won Mid Bedfordshire by-election for Labour, was being photographed in centre of Hitchin today. I wonder if he's switching to new Hitchin seat at general election? Hitchin has almost 20% of old Mid Beds, & is better bet for Labour.
