Helium identification with LHCb arxiv.org/abs/2310.05864 - The identification of helium nuclei at LHCb is achieved using a method based on measurements of ionisation losses in the silicon sensors and timing measurements in the Outer Tracker drift tubes.

A really important result on a channel that will get even more interesting with more data from the upgraded LHCb Experiment . Congratulations to all the team!

An outstanding editorial at the Financial Times. Why we should invest in a particle physics collider. Not (only) because of the technological applications but mostly for the advance of knowledge as an human quest. 👏👏👏 ft.com/content/4b3d1a…

Having worked on this stuff for a looong time, sometimes I have to pinch myself when I see the precision we have now achieved. And we are not done yet ...

Test of lepton flavour universality with Bₛ⁰→ϕℓ⁺ℓ⁻ decays arxiv.org/abs/2410.13748 - Branching fraction ratios between Bₛ⁰→ϕe⁺e⁻ and Bₛ⁰→ϕμ⁺μ⁻ are measured in three regions of dilepton mass squared and agree with the SM expectation of lepton flavour universality.
