I did a vocational degree which led me to a long career in public service. Mrs D didn't do a vocational degree. She also had a long different career in public service.
Sons have gone different routes with their different degrees. All degrees have value. There is no one right way.

Morning from The Thick of It

At 18 I was working 3 jobs, doing my A levels & setting up gigs.
Dad did 25 years in the RAF from aged 15 which he opted to do before joining Civvy Street.
I went onto do 35 years in local authority social care which I opted to do.
We both did our own forms of national service.

Yeah, probably. The party has gone to absolute crap.

Oh and speaking for my own teenage kids - they did their national service by abiding by the rules of lockdown, getting their jabs and doing their bit for this country even as their education was shot to pieces. Meanwhile the fuckers in the fucking Tory party partied and ate cake.
