Labour Mayors are right to criticise photo voter ID. It is costly, unnecessary, and discriminatory.

But is Labour committed to repealing the legislation if they form the next Government?

For devolution to work, decision-making and revenue-raising powers have to be taken away from Whitehall and local people given a much larger role in setting their own priorities.

The Government announced a ‘surprise’ honours list last week.

But nothing about the contents of the list was a surprise.

Topping the list of donors was Mr Mansour, one of the Conservative Party’s largest donors.

This is what the honours system has become in Britain today.

Labour is considering signing up to a cross-party pledge not to tolerate deepfakes that constitute electoral misinformation.

Shouldn't take too long.

Sign up without delay, and the other parties should follow suit.

Whoever wants to be the next European president will have to make sure ‘not a penny’ goes to Orbán as long as he continues to undermine democracy and the rule of law… and plays the puppet for autocrats like Trump, Putin and Xi.

Reform of the House of Lords is long overdue.

But pending the radical reform we want to see, there is something easy that any Prime Minister can do to make it more representative, just appoint women.

Supportive comments from Emily Thornberry for the at the FOI conference.

Less enthusiasm, however, for Labour to be transparent in the run up to the General Election on which businesses they are meeting and why?

If there is a precedent for the taxpayer funding the legal costs of a Minister who had wrongly accused someone of being a Hamas sympathiser, it is time to set an alternative precedent.
