PM must stop the boasts about stopping the boats

Rwanda Act has passed, but Sunak says he needs *10-12 weeks* to get flights off.

And y'day he admitted that 'success is when the boats have been stopped' - but we know small boats are up 24% this year, & his £570m Rwanda scheme will cover <1%!

He really should stop the boasts.

PM says no “foreign court” will prevent flights taking off. Cl 5 of the Bill allows Ministers to decide whether or not to comply with a rule 39 measure. But defying one would be likely to breach international law. Would (eg) the Attorney General be willing to sanction that? /end
