Octave 3.8.0 has been out for a week now. The new (still experimental) GUI seems to have stirred up a lot of activity.

Ah, compiling SuiteSparse with the right LONGBLAS settings makes a big difference...

Now I'm seeing 130+ failures in the test suite on Windows with --enable-64 but at least the test suite doesn't crash Octave...

Most of the failures appear to be due to building with --disable-docs. Things are looking better than I thought. So Yay, progress, right?
