I very much doubt it. This seems to be trying to blame Johnny Foreigner for Royal Mail's scam of charging random folk £5 for 'fake' stamps that are of course genuine. Royal Mail needs to admit they cannot identify fake or genuine stamps except by guessing (Bar codes don't help).

Charles II was the last gypsy king to reside at Gypsy Palace in Kirk Yetholm, Scotland. His cornation in 1898 was attended by 10,000 people. The Palace is now self-catering accommodation. Steven Robb details the Scottish Gypsy Kings and Queens here... blog.historicenvironment.scot/2022/10/the-gy…

I was trawling thru Whitehaven archives today, determined not to get distracted. And then found an old handwritten diary with this chapter heading: 'An account of the ancient little people, later called fairies, who lived in the hills of Eskdale and Millom'. 😲
