#Ramsar wetlands are not only crucial for local species in the #MDB , but for international visitors, too!

Migratory birds travel 10,000s kms to escape the Arctic winter. #WaterForTheEnvironment is delivered to these sites to provide optimal conditions for birds.

Ramsar wetlands are internationally important wetlands. 🌏💧

There are 16 internationally important sites in the #MDB , and #WaterForTheEnvironment is used at each one to maintain wetland health for the species that depend on them.

Drones: fun and essential! 🐟🛸

In the lower Darling/Baaka, drones are being used to monitor levels of river bench and snag inundation during flows of #WaterForTheEnvironment , which are important for breeding Murray cod.

‘Dharriwaa’, the Royal spoonbill, was first tagged at the Narran Lakes in March '22. He has since returned home after spending January flitting up and down the Barwon-Darling and Namoi rivers. He keeps checking on those lakes!
