The situation in Tigray is one I have tried to platform over the years, but it is sadly another one of the tragedies that is invisibilised in our global context. The level of atrocity boggles the mind, and how much do we know about it??? Not enough, I'd wager.

It takes decades to clear all UXOs in Tigray. In the meantime, there are prevention measures that mitigate their impact.

Tigray Education Bureau:

+ make lessons about UXO and land mines part of the curriculum,

+ run media awareness campaign,

+ identify and fence contaminated areas.
