The future of the music industry is independence. It’s one that places value on the artist and allows them complete creative control as well as freedom to connect with fans directly.

I’ve been on a Billy Ocean kick as of lately. Prime example of pop excellence.

Growing up I always said that I could never pick a favorite Beatles song, but if I had to pick, it would be Here, There & Everywhere.

Last year, when I was on the CRC’s website, I saw they took down their music section and I suspected they stopped recording music. Unfortunately, I was right. The most famous recording studio in the Midwest announced last month that they demolished their music studios.

Looking forward to watching Stevie and Joni perform tomorrow night!

Still can't get over the fact that I missed Stevie every single day at NAMM - it seems that almost everyone I talked to got a chance to see him! I had my Songs in the Key of Life vinyl with a sharpie in my backpack cause I had a feeling that he would be there. Oh well

I saw Inside Scofield and while it is worthwhile for any Scoficionado, I did wish it went a bit deeper into the details of his playing, relationship with music, and overall story. But it was cool to see how he lives on the road and what his life looks like.

I just finished watching the Amazing Grace documentary and it was a captivating look into Ted’s story.

I got into Ted Hawkins last year after being absolutely floored by his incredibly raw performances. I remember I bought Watch Your Step on vinyl immediately after first hearing it. One of my favorite singer-songwriters ever!

The new Four Tet track is great - as were the Four Tet/Kieren Hebden tracks that dropped last year.

One of the biggest generational differences in terms of music listening is that the parents of my gen weren’t exposed to nearly as much music at the age we are now thanks to streaming/the internet.

Poncho and Lefty by Townes is perhaps the best country story song. Absolutely legendary.
