This is a pancreas. Most of us have one.
The pancreas produces insulin, which is required to regulate blood sugar. EVERYBODY NEEDS insulin. The difference between a T1D and everybody else is that your pancreas naturally produces insulin, mine does not.
Without insulin, we die.
