1958: 'the Perceptron will lead to machines that “will be able to walk, talk, see, write, reproduce itself and be conscious of its existence.”

2024 👇🏼

Same unsubstantiated claims, different decade.

Finding something you enjoy doing is always worth the wait. I am grateful to my Ph.D. advisor, Hoshin Gupta, and to all those who have supported me along this journey so far. I hope this contribution can make a small impact in the field of hydrology.

Day 2 of , continuing my journey of CS229, learned the concept of perceptron and GLAs (4/20).Also moved forward with my learnings of tensorflow and completed with the basics, will start implementation of the algorithms from tomorrow. Ended the day with reading blogs

How do neural networks learn? in 1958 Frank Rosenblatt formulated the delta rule of supervised machine learning. Since the perceptron rule involves vectors we can directly translate it to Snap! Cloud. For v10 we are adding hyper-mutation, so we can evolve neurons organically.

First neural net was developed by Cornell professor Frank Rosenblatt when he built 'Perceptron' to distinguish between a card with either a square on the left or right of the card

This shouldn’t be hard for a serious athlete to grasp. VO2max is confounded by skeletal muscle strength, power, etc. it’s really a composite metric. People with high VO2max have strong legs. You can’t even do the Peter Attia life extension workouts if you are weak.

VO2max is the most important factor for your longevity (if you believe Mandsager et al). However, only 20-25% of Americans exercise. The majority of this 20% do so unintelligently. Very few people are actually winning here.

Reasons this advice won’t work:
1. Especially in biology, your advisor gives you the project they got a grant for and you do it
2. Many people want to graduate quickly, will go into industry or medical practice (most MD/PhDs), and don’t care about the problem, just the degree
