In anticipation of that, here's a glimpse inside and a hint of the elegance that Nardini brought to the Festival: fashion shows, immaculate waiting staff (and a wine list that couldn't be more 80s).

We are delighted to be guests of Glasgow City Heritage Trust for an edition of their 'If Glasgow's walls could talk' podcast tomorrow night. A great venue, too - now HQ of Malin Group, the S Rotunda was Nardini's Café during the Garden Festival.

Fun evening out recording a podcast for Glasgow City Heritage Trust about the ‘work’ we’ve been doing collecting stories & memories about the Glasgow Garden Festival After the Garden Festival...
Great to be back in Malin Group South Rotunda - famous as Nardini’s during the Festival.

Thought we had a drawing for this, but only the preparatory sketch here - other pic shows construction.

Niall Murphy Glasgow City Heritage Trust After the Garden Festival... Malin Group I was there on opening day, the royal visit. It was also our daughter’s 4th birthday! Freezing by the Clyde, as I recall, but what a great day and a great summer!

Lex Lamb After the Garden Festival... Malin Group Gordon Barr Glasgow City Heritage Trust Kenny Brophy Lost Glasgow Past Glasgow This Is My Glasgow New Glasgow Society Just had a quick look, and it seems I was wrong! The sign on the back of the machinery house was the anchor logo of the Clyde Port Authority. Garden Festival logos were on either side. Thanks for so many fascinating insights. Let's get the RBS Children of Glasgow fountain sorted.

Good to bump into Gordon Barr tonight, and to learn about the fascinating After the Garden Festival... project. Also great to see Malin Group ‘s superb repurposing of the South Rotunda, where in 1988 I had my first ice cream in Glasgow

Paul Sweeney After the Garden Festival... Malin Group Lex Lamb Gordon Barr Glasgow City Heritage Trust Kenny Brophy Lost Glasgow Past Glasgow This Is My Glasgow New Glasgow Society Back in 1989 I have no doubt the whole city was spotless - now we have litter, graffiti, mess everywhere - all the work that goes in to improve and grow the city gets ruined by zero upkeep by GCC. A place for our people to enjoy no more it seems - lots to improve for growth.
