Where leasehold reform is concerned, they’re doing a spectacularly bad job at reassuring the public. Millions of leaseholder votes at stake and The Labour Party are rowing back on timescales for already long overdue change. Major policy speech from leadership needed 2 clarify situation.

The only way out of the mortgage lending crisis is to protect every leaseholder in the country from ruinous remediation costs.

To do that you need the extra funding the Earl of Lytton's buildingsafetyscheme.org provides. Coming back to the Lords on 22 April.

Leaseholder Calum Matheson was offered £200 after complaining to the watchdog about his managing agent – but was told he would have to keep it a secret. 🤫

He and other residents had their energy tariffs retrospectively increased and were backbilled. (They have heat networks.)

I swear to god Firstport.

The leasehold pack was requested a month ago but they lost the email. Even after being sent their auto reply they refuse to acknowledge they received the request.

They won't accept the request from me, the leaseholder.

The key question on the Building Safety Act leaseholder protections.

What happens to leaseholders reliant on freeholder funding for ruinous remediation costs if the freeholders can't afford these costs and go bust?

The only answer is we need an alternative funding mechanism…

TenureFreedom Benjamin Hammond James Steady Subject of course to the caveat that you must not hide terms - the lease sets out the rent and the review terms - a whole schedule in many cases very clearly which is reviewed for the leaseholder by a professional BEFORE they enter into the contract

Don't take it from me. Listen to the BBC’s Money Box guy. If you are a leaseholder and you want to be liberated from feudalism time to look to alternatives. Liberal Democrats The Green Party - even Reform UK. Who knows? Maybe the Conservatives might pull a rabbit out of the bag!

John Townsend NLC - LEASEHOLD CAMPAIGNER - #reLEASE us The Church of England Harry Scoffin Right, well it's refreshing to hear someone openly admit it. So let's delve: No compensation means every leaseholder is immediately granted the full freehold value of their flat. Even someone with 1 year left on their lease?

Great from Barry Gardiner on the leasehold racket.

“The law is there to protect people from people like you”

I’d love to know in which developer boardroom it was first agreed to sell a house as leasehold with doubling GR clause.

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Still no lending on:

Buildings < 11 metres

Enfranchised or leaseholder-owned blocks...

Non-qualifying leases

What happened to all those promises? BSA is not problem solved. Nightmare and stress continues, flats unmarketable and unmortgageable

Sheila McDonagh Hence freehold or freehold-equivalent ownership tenure replacing is *the only way* for flats to be secure homes not some trapdoor that can give way on the tenant leaseholder at any time. 3//

1. Leases have nothing to do with taxes,up or down
2. False
3. Depends, could be false
4. Because no ownership is transferred
5. True

It doesn't sound nice because you know what else lease with an option doesn't do? It doesn't give the leaseholder ownership.

No matter if you’re a tenant if you’re a resident or if you’re a leaseholder, you know that you know that Ure rights have been eroded by this labour counsellor it’s time to take the future of council housing back again time to tell them enough is enough decisions are being made
