Another excellent HN trial at #ASTRO23 , phase 3 HYPNO evaluating hypofractionated RT in LA HNSCC vs accelerated CRT. 55Gy/20 vs 66Gy/33. Results demonstrate non-inferior LRC and grade 3+ toxicity. Great data to have for patients requiring shorter courses of RT. Shlomo Koyfman

Dr. Susannah Ellsworth has been awarded a Basic/Translational Science Award from ASTRO for her work suggesting that hypofractionated radiation was associated with relative sparing of the immune repertoire compared with longer courses of radiation.
