Amiya 🕸️🧵 Retro Vtuber Solder braids are really cheap but really quite annoying. Granted you can't justify the cost of a desoldering gun without need for it probably. Just Flux it and desolder and then clean it up good 👍🏿
FRλ 💙💛 Vanilla's shop OPEN you need good quality leaded solder cause it has a way lower melting point than the lead free shit they use in factories. you flood the joints you want to desolder with the new leaded solder to lower the melting point of that joint which makes desoldering way easier.
Chris On Japan A proper iron, some solder braid and a desolder pump and changing components isn’t too hard. It’s all about finding the cause of the fault which can be the tricky part.
DeWitt B. Fartin Ive only done a bit of SMD solder/desolder but I can say that if you get thru one of those boards they should give you a prize. All I had was ye olde Hakko with chisel tip but I was seriously considering modding toaster oven to solder oven to never do it again
NY Vintage Micros If the boards are not important you can freely use a heat gun and go ham in plucking the components.
After you take the most important stuff like the CPU you can just smack the board while upside down to let the rest fall off.
And if you don't want to desolder just now: cut out
Hox (Coms Closed) Mimi Nablin 👑🎀 | 🎨Commissions Open (0/4)🎨 Oozey Oozebourne 💧 I actually have a few rather alright aluminum keyboards that I found in the trash awhile ago that are in solid condition (though their switches are loud and clacky). I might need to desolder the board, but I'm pretty confident that I could mod them to get a good sound profile :3
