Thoughts about the Bama Rush documentary so far...
First and foremost, the director going on and on about her alopecia was unnecessary. One time would've sufficed.
Many of these girls need therapy more than they need a sorority, which may cause further trauma.

🧵 DON'T SAY THIS DOESN'T AFFECT US.

I was in the leisure centre changing rooms with my daughter. I'd just got out of the communal shower so didnt have my turban on (alopecia) and I was putting my bra on. My daughter was about to take her swimming costume off.

A man walks in!

The director had the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist that outed the Machine, a founding member of Bama AKA who saw a cross burning outside her sorority house, and a PNM who had been roofied 3 times, but made the whole thing about her alopecia..?!

Why did the Bama Rush director hijack her own documentary and make it a therapy session about her journey with alopecia. What a strange decision.

I don’t want to be insensitive about the director of Bama Rush’s alopecia, but the way she pops in and talks about being bald throughout the course of the documentary genuinely feels like a long-form sketch

If anyone has watched the Bama Rush documentary and would like to talk about how it turned into a therapy session about the director’s alopecia. I’m here.

Of all the angles for the “Bama Rush” documentary could’ve taken, I can confidently say “director has alopecia and really needs to talk about it” wasn’t one I was expecting

Transformation is almost complete. For reference, pic one is the alopecia recovery, pic 2 was me in Jan this year.

Alopecia Awareness ❤️ It’s one of the most brutal things to go through as a woman but since I can’t run away from it I’ve decided to embrace it so whoever is going through it knows they aren’t alone. I’m So happy there are solutions to have happiness again. Dont suffer in silence
