There's a stream 100m from the house. There's trout in it, like the small one in this photo. They used to get much bigger but water quality in Ireland isn't what it used to be. The amount of filamentous green algae present in April tells me there's too many nutrients getting in.

mark Leon Simons It's spelt coral. Reading isn't your strong point.

'Warmer water temperatures can result in coral bleaching. When water is too warm, corals will expel the algae (zooxanthellae) living in their tissues causing the coral to turn completely white. This is called coral bleaching.'

🦆🐟 Nature's unexpected friendships are truly heartwarming!

Did you know ducks are known to feed fish? In a beautiful display of cooperation, ducks create ripples in the water that stir up algae and small insects, providing a tasty treat for fish below.

mark Leon Simons No, it says that cold can ALSO kill, which is true.

But we are talking about increased temperatures here. Marine heatwaves kill coral - this is commonly known.

'If the temperature stays high, the coral won’t let the algae back, and the coral will die.'

1. THREAD What is Gov. talking about in NewsServiceFlorida and Naples Daily News? 'We have stuff in Lake Okeechobee, on some of the algae blooms, that if you do it, it does treat the algae blooms pretty effectively,” DeSantis said.' Um, what stuff?
