🌱🌊Happy #WorldSeagrassDay from Central Queensland Australia! To celebrate the importance of seagrass meadows worldwide 🌎here are some photos of intertidal seagrass meadows from Australia (Gladstone & the Whitsundays) 🇦🇺, Virginia US 🇺🇸, and my wee home Isle of Jersey C.I. 🇯🇪

Happy to share the files with other #seagrassfans :)

Seagrasses are underwater meadows that provide habitat for marine life and directly influence key ecosystem processes like carbon storage and erosion control, but seagrasses are also under threat from pollution and climate change. #WorldSeagrassDay

Seagrass hunting from above is like cloud watching from below.
What do you see in the patchy seagrass beds of North Carolina?

Happy #WorldSeagrassDay ! 🌊🌿
Throwback to our #seagrass surveys in Cuatro Islas, #Philippines ! The islands are surrounded by dense and diverse seagrass meadows with up to 8 species sighted 💚

It's the first UN awareness day for seagrass today! They are both important ecosystems for carbon storage and habitat for many aquatic species. Since I've been sampling in seagrass meadows, here are a few pictures. #WorldSeagrassDay

🌱Happy #WorldSeagrassDay everyone from the diverse and extensive seagrass meadows of the #GreatBarrierReef ! 🌱
Our seagrasses here are important as habitat, feeding grounds and for people and culture too. Take some time to appreciate your local #seagrass meadow today!

It’s #WorldSeagrassDay !🌊🌱 Here's a small reminder from Project Seagrass of why seagrass is so amazing

Happy #WorldSeagrassDay 🌱 shout out to the brilliant seagrass team on #RestorationForth who are restoring this amazing habitat in the Firth of Forth 🌱

It's #WorldSeaGrassDay . In 1997, 54,000 pieces of plastic seagrass fell into the ocean when a container of Lego fell off a ship. In other news, researchers recently found natural seagrass in coastal areas seems to trap plastic pollution in bundles of fibre known as Neptune balls.
