this year, the world lost one of the brightest, most beautiful souls I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Elie Che was a visionary. although #TransDayofRememberance isn’t a joyous occasion, I find comfort in knowing that her art and beauty will live on forever. love you, Elie!

I feel it to be an inescapable reality that every suicide of a trans person is also a murder that can be laid at the feet of a world that has hounded them to the brink of self-destruction, decried them as too sick to live, and proclaimed them monsters.

Victims are mainly black/hispanic & numbers are skewed due to misgendering or misreporting.
