It’s 27 years to the day since England beat Georgia 2-0 at Wembley.

Here’s Teddy Sheringham’s brilliant opener with some glorious commentary to boot.

This was Martin Tyler in his absolute pomp.

It’s 29 years today since Andy Cole made one of the unhappiest England debuts ever against Uruguay.

First he’s famously blanked by Teddy Sheringham, then he hits the bar, before his side are booed off at full time.

Terry Venables never picked Cole again.

Sheringham's snub of Andy Cole started a feud that would last a lifetime

Cole later said:

“I'd rather sit down & have a cuppa with Neil Ruddock, who broke my leg in two places in 96, than with Sheringham, who I've pretty much detested for the past 15 years”
