Only a few days to go until the £200,000 Coral Scottish Grand National on Scotland's first ever £500,000 raceday. The race will be run 50 years to the day since Red Rum became the only horse EVER to win the Grand National/Scottish Grand National in the same year, 1974. #RedRum50

Aintree Racecourse I was lucky to meet Red Rum a few times - this pic was 1992 (?) when I was a rookie journalist. Also, as a child on Birkdale sands and at the nearby McCain stable in mid 70s the day after one of his Aintree victories 🙂🏇🏼 #RedRum50
