What an amazing collection of hand embroidery from Punjab region - “Phulkari” on denim fabric, given a contemporary twist by our 2017 Fashion Design graduate Sukhi Sran.

An old yet thrilling and unadulterated rendition of 'Ki Banu Dunya Da' by Gurdas Maan sb in which he describes the lost heritage of Punjab. The lyrics are,

Ghagre v gaye, phulkariyan v gaiyan which is translated Ghagra and Phulkari (traditional clothing and embroidery) is lost.

In honour of the #G20 delegation to #Amritsar , Phulkari WOA, was honoured to contribute a painting as well as a statue with the theme of Unity in Diversity.
