The Minister refused to even acknowledge the issue when I asked why seniors are getting ripped off by private for-profit clinics charging extra fees on OHIP-covered surgeries.

Private clinics upselling patients using deceptive tactics is unacceptable & should not be happening.

And… as our offices are busy closing due to underfunding we watch as private nurse practioner clinics are opening charging 200-300% more than OHIP reimbursement and the government does nothing.

Pharmacies charges OHIP $75 for each HealthCheck. $75.... for something the dispensing fee paid for. (they even cold call people that aren't requesting the MedCheck - caching!!!!! for the pharmacist).

Meanwhile family docs get paid 37.00 for a patient visit and specialist get

Have there ever been court cases where Ontarians cross over to Buffalo for treatments (unavailable or unacceptable wait times) and then sue OHIP to recoup costs?

I know a billionaire and he hates paying tax.

I'm gobsmacked that OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) only pays family physicians $37 for the patient visit itself.

Private clinic told couple cataract surgery would req 3-5 year wait at local hospital
- Couple later found out, after paying private clinic to do surgery, wait time at hospital ranges from 3-6 months

And, per Waterloo Health Coalition, is covered by OHIP

Cataract surgery, and the lenses that the doctor determines are medically necessary for the patient, are fully insured under Ohip regardless of the premises in which the service is provided including private ophthalmology clinics.

Today my colleague was told she was “just like a nazi soldier at a concentration camp” because she asked a man for his proof of address and identity, which are requirements to renew OHIP.

OntarioHealthCoal'n Can confirm this experience with a cataracts surgery clinic. First it was an attempted up-charge for measurements, then pressure to go elsewhere when we chose OHIP & declining fancy lenses. Then an excruciating wait time with constant threats of a longer wait. NOT OKAY.

My children have all the required and OHIP-covered vaccines for their ages. But given the increase in MenB in #KFLA #ygk , my Dr recommended MenB vaccination for my kids, which is not OHIP-covered.
