The Minister of Ministry of Health- Uganda Hon Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero has officially launched the #EMSPolicyUG which will guide the establishment of Medical Emergency Services.

Uganda's Health Minister, Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero has this afternoon launched the National Emergency Medical Services Policy.

The Policy will be key in ensuring sustainable funding, effective governance and universal access to emergency care for all people of Uganda. #EMSPolicyUG

One vital component of the #EMSPolicyUG will be increasing access to on-scene emergency medical care through;
🔹️Integrating first aid curriculum in all training institutions
🔹️Strengthening medical first responder capacity
🔹️Boosting first aid capacity at Community level

The Ministry of Health- Uganda this afternoon launches the #EMSPolicyUG .

This policy will improve service delivery and life outcomes for many, there will be a system where care starts at the emergency scene through transport to the unit care to reduce morbidity&mortality in Uganda.

Medical emergencies contribute to
high morbidity and mortality rates in #Uganda and yet these could be addressed through an efficient system. The #EMSPolicyUG seeks to address this by improving service delivery and outcomes for Ugandans.
