If it’s bad for poor and working-class people, it’s bad for the planet. If it prioritizes billionaires over everyday people, it’s bad for the planet. If it perpetuates anti-Black, racist redlining and displacement, it’s bad for the planet.

Vote NO by 7 pm!

A stadium in a denser area with transit connections would be ideal!

That doesn’t mean we need give into a bad, rushed deal that leaves people with more questions than answers.

We don’t need to accept solutions that are contingent on protecting billionaire profits above all.

IS THIS A NEW TAX?

Yes. This is a new tax. We pay a ⅜ cent sales tax now, which generates $50 million in annual revenue for the teams. The current tax was passed in 2006, set to expire in 2031. This ballot measure asks us to repeal that and pass a new tax, lasting 40 years.

John Sherman is worth billions. Yet he wants us to foot the bill for his private expenses ❌

Sherman says “we’ve been listening” to the community about paying for his new stadium, but he can’t even be bothered to acknowledge our existence? 🤔

History lesson 🤓 In 2004, voters in said NO to a tax increase and the teams didn't leave. Instead, the teams came back 2 years later with a different proposal.

This time around, John Sherman said himself that they don't plan to leave KC even if the tax fails 👇

Next week, Kansas City residents will vote on a sales tax to fund stadium projects for the Super Bowl champion Chiefs and the MLB’s Royals.

It’s just one more instance of using public money to fund billionaires’ pet projects.
